Restore Patches: A Full Review
Bioenergetic patches have been becoming more and more popular over the last few years
This post shares my experience trying out Restore Patches and how one in particular earned a spot in my wellness toolset.
As part of this blog, i’ve always loved sharing about new and interesting brands and technologies that help to support wellness. Over the last couple of years, I have seen more and more people talking about wellness patches, and my interest was piqued.
So when Restore Patches reached out offering to send me some of their copper patches, I was super excited.
As part of my business, I love trying out popular and up-and-coming products to share honestly about my experience and whether I would recommend them. One of my rules is that any product I talk about on the blog, I must personally have a minimum of 30 days of experience with the brand and product.
So this is my experience and honest review of Restore Patches… and whether I believe they are a good addition to your wellness routine.
What are Restore Patches?
Restore Patch is a line of wearable wellness patches designed to support the body using a non-drug, non-supplement approach. Rather than delivering herbs, nutrients, or synthetic ingredients through the skin, these patches are made with a thin layer of copper foil. According to the company, this foil is embedded with specific energetic frequencies that are intended to interact with the body’s natural bioelectric signals when the patch is worn.
The brand offers a variety of patches formulated for different wellness goals, including stress and anxiety support, sleep, migraine and headache relief, focus and mental clarity, energy support, immune health, and more targeted concerns such as PTSD or severe anxiety. Each patch is applied directly to the skin and worn for an extended period of time, allowing for continuous support throughout the day or night, depending on the intended use.
My Experience Trying Restore Patches
I’ll be honest… when I first heard “energetic frequencies” I felt it might be a little “woo woo”. But I also regularly practice things that people call weird, so I wasn’t going to pass up an opportunity to try these out.
I am very strict about thoroughly testing out a product before I share about it on the blog. I feel like people read reviews and are looking for insight because they are looking for a solution for their own symptoms. So while our symptoms or wellness goals may be different, you may gain insight from reading my experience.
Immune Support
The first patch I tried was their immune support ones. My family traveled to Japan for 10 days, and I knew I would need all the help I could get to keep from getting sick. Whenever we travel, especially when we have long, international flights, I feel like I usually end up with a small cold or the sniffles. Add on that we were traveling with 3 kiddos under 5 (my own two kids, and my niece), I just had a feeling that we would be dealing with extra germs on this trip 😅
Sure enough, half of our traveling party ended up with coughs and congestion… and while I had a slight sore throat, I never experienced any symptoms beyond that. While I could attribute that support to the patches, I was doing several other things to support my wellness and immunity, including supplements and prioritizing sleep and nutrition.
So, I felt like I couldn’t attribute it all to the patch…. but also could not say that it wasn’t effective to some degree.
Energy Patches
Next up, I tried the Energy patch, designed to support stable energy levels. Day to day, I do not feel like my energy is unstable, but I was still curious to try it. Similar to the Immune Support patch, I couldn’t strongly attribute my feelings solely to the patch. Sure, I had stable energy, but nothing significantly different than my usual energy levels.
Now if you’ve made it this far and are becoming unimpressed with my experience, keep reading to the Migraine patch, which really was a game changer.
Migraine Patches
Since I was a child, I’ve experienced migraine headaches. For over 2 decades, my migraines have followed a very, very specific pattern down to the timing from the initial onset. While I have tried medications in the past, none of them have ever made a significant enough difference to take them and deal with the side effects.
Thankfully, I do not get them more than a few times a year, so it took me a while before I could personally test out this patch. While obviously I did not want to have a migraine, I was so curious if it would help at all…
About a month ago, I was working when I experienced my typical visual aura.. thankfully, I had been keeping some of the patches in my work bag in case this exact thing happened. When my aura started, I put one of the patches on the back of my neck and took my normal migraine medication regimen. Within an hour, I was throwing up in the bathroom and needing to go home (again, all very typical of my migraine progression).
About 2 hours after my migraine, I was laying in bed at home when I noticed that my migraine pain was not as severe as normal. It was manageable enough that I could eat some dinner with my family before laying back down (this is unheard of with my migraines). Later that night, about 3 hours after my migraine, I was able to tolerate some dim light and was reading my Kindle….. again, unheard of.
Typically, when I have a migraine, I have 2-4 days afterwards where I still don’t feel super great. Usually, I refer to it as a migraine hangover 😅
The next morning, while I was back to normal, I felt significantly better than I anticipated! I only had slight nausea and a very mild headache. By that evening (about 24 hours after I initially applied the patch), I was symptom-free. My husband and I were shocked! Never have I been able to manage my migraine symptoms as well. And never have my migraine symptoms dissipated so quickly.
Unlike the immune and energy patches, I could confidently say that the patch made a difference with my migraines. With such a long history of extremely specific migraine symptoms, applying this patch was literally the only thing that I did differently, and yet my migraine was noticeably more tolerable!
What I Loved… And Didn’t
First of all, I love that these patches are non-invasive. The only real “side effect” I encountered was slight irritation from the adhesive after wearing the patch for several days consecutively. Again, it was super mild and pretty standard to what I would get from using a bandaid. It was no big deal for me.
And the cons…
Now, to be honest, the science behind these patches was a bit difficult to wrap my mind around. I look forward to further studies and research being done on these patches by third-party sources, but as of now, they’re pretty lacking.
Will I use Restore Patches in the future?
Honestly, as for the energy and immune patches, probably not. That said, I feel like I have a pretty strong immune system and consistent energy levels as is. If you are struggling with either of those symptoms and are looking for a safe, non-invasive way to support your health and wellness, they may be worth a shot.
As for the migraine patches, they are now permanently stocked in my migraine pouch for support when they hit! I am hopeful that this will continue being a tool in my migraine regimen that offers relief without any of the unwanted side effects, like some of the popular migraine treatment options.
Do I recommend these patches?
If you are dealing with severe symptoms, such as migraines or debilitating exhaustion.. or maybe you are in a season of being immunocompromised, these patches may be a low-risk option to try out and see if they work.
As always, I only ever recommend trying a new supplement or wellness tool after having your foundational wellness habits in place: nutrition, sleep, movement, and stress management.
