Huha Underwear Review: Are These Zinc-Infused Undies Worth It After 1 Year?
1 year ago, I tried an underwear brand that is infused with zinc….and I’m reviewing it all for you.
Here are the pros and cons of one of the most unique underwear brands on the market today!
Looking for Natural Fiber Underwear That Actually Holds Up?
Over the past few years, I've intentionally been replacing more of my wardrobe with natural fibers—including my underwear.
What surprised me, though, was that many organic cotton or 100% cotton underwear options didn't work very well for me. They stretched out, lost their shape quickly, or simply weren't comfortable during workouts and long walks.
After spending far too much time researching different brands, I decided to purchase several pairs of Huha underwear with my own money.
Now, more than a year later (and after wearing them through hundreds of workouts, walks, bike rides, and everyday life), feel like I can give a much more helpful review than a first-impression article.
For transparency: I purchased these myself. This post isn't sponsored, and all opinions are my own.
Why Huha Underwear Is Different
At first glance, Huha underwear might look like another premium underwear brand. But there are a few features that genuinely set them apart.
1. Antimicrobial Zinc Oxide Liner
Probably the biggest thing you've seen on TikTok is Huha's signature zinc liner.
The gusset is infused with antimicrobial zinc oxide, which the company says helps reduce odor while supporting a healthier environment for the vulva. While it's not a medical treatment for UTIs or yeast infections, I do appreciate the thought behind the design, especially for people who are active or prone to irritation.
2. Natural Fibers Where They Matter
Rather than using mostly synthetic materials, Huha combines Tencel Lyocell with elastane for stretch and durability.
Personally, I actually prefer this approach over underwear made from only organic cotton.
Some brands that rely entirely on natural fibers don't maintain their shape very well. Huha's blend of ultra-soft TENCEL™ Lyocell and elastic has held up much better while still feeling breathable.
3. Breathable Fabric Designed for Everyday Life
One of the biggest reasons these have become my favorite everyday underwear is that they stay put.
I've worn them for:
HIIT workouts
biking
travel
everyday errands
lounging at home
Whether I'm sweating through a workout or wearing tight clothes, I don't find myself constantly adjusting them. Seriously, i'm in my 30's-- I want underwear that work with me 😅
4. Thoughtful Design Details
Huha includes several design features that I really appreciate:
Green gusset helps camouflage period leaks or stains
Wide gusset offers more coverage (aka nothing slipping 😉)
Bonded edges on some styles reduce visible lines
Breathable fabric
OEKO-TEX® certified materials

Are Huha Underwear Non-Toxic?
One of the reasons I originally purchased Huha underwear was because I was trying to reduce my exposure to unnecessary synthetic materials in my clothing.
Huha's fabrics are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning they've been tested for hundreds of potentially harmful substances. Their use of TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers also appeals to me because they're derived from wood pulp and are known for being lightweight, breathable, and soft.
While no clothing is completely free from every synthetic component (Huha still uses elastane for stretch), I think they're a great option for anyone looking for high-quality underwear made primarily from thoughtfully selected materials.
Again, I'm an 80/20 kinda girl who wants products that are healthier and work well 👏
My Honest Pros
After wearing my Huha underwear for more than a year, these are the biggest advantages I've noticed.
They're actually comfortable
The low profile collection has become my favorite style.
Even at the end of the day, I never feel like they're digging in or creating pressure points.
They stay in place
Whether I'm doing burpees or going for long walks, they don't ride up.
That alone makes them what I reach for most often.
They actually hold their shape
Unlike some of my pairs of cotton underwear, these haven't stretched out after repeated washing.
Lots of styles
Huha offers:
Classic thong
String thong
Bikini
Cheeky
High rise
Mid rise
Full coverage
Boxer style
Seamless style
There really is a broad size range from 2xs- 3xl and fit depending on your preferences.

My Honest Cons
Because I always try to be really transparent with my reviews, here are the not-so-great parts of the brand…
They're expensive
This is my biggest complaint.
At around $25 per pair (before bundle discounts), they're definitely an investment. That said, they have held up really well and feel like a quality purchase-- even a year later! I would much rather buy something higher-quality and have it last than have to replace it frequently.
Limited local availability
At the moment, you generally need to order directly from Huha.
Not every style works for every body
Although I found a perfect fit, sizing is always personal.
If you're between sizes or prefer a looser fit, I'd pay close attention to the size guide.
Fortunately, Huha now offers a First Pair of Huhas Risk-Free program, which can make trying the brand feel a little less intimidating.
What I Purchased
For reference, here's exactly what I ordered.
3 Low Profile Cheeky (Black)
2 Low Profile Thongs (Black)
2 Low Profile Thongs (Beige)
I typically wear a women's size 8 and purchased a Medium.
I found the sizing to be true to size, and I haven't experienced any major size issues after washing.
I've even been less-than-perfect about following the care instructions (yes...they've gone through the dryer more than once 😅), and they've still held up remarkably well. I simply wash them in my favorite non-toxic laundry detergent and air dry them (again, when I remember…woops).
Are Huha Underwear Worth It?
For me?
Yes.
They're the pair I reach for first from my underwear drawer, and after more than a year of regular wear, they've earned a permanent spot in my wardrobe.
If your priorities are:
breathable fabrics
natural fibers
thoughtful construction
long-term durability
comfort
then I genuinely think they're worth considering.
If you're simply looking for the absolute cheapest underwear available, this probably isn't the right choice.
Frequently Asked Questions
I frequently get questions about Huha underwear, so here are all the most commonly asked questions all in one place!
Are Huha underwear worth the price?
To me, yes. I have found that some things are worth spending more money on up front. They have held up well, without any tears or pilling, despite frequent wear. Other brands of underwear are cheaper, but just don’t last.
Is zinc oxide in underwear actually beneficial?
The vulva naturally has varying levels of moisture depending on your menstrual cycle, activity level, or about 1,000 different variables. Moisture can create an environment for bacteria to thrive, leading to some of those common issues. Zinc oxide is naturally antimicrobial and can help to keep those bacteria levels in check.
Are Huha underwear good for sensitive skin?
I have always had very sensitive skin and have never had any irritation wearing Huha underwear.
Are Huha underwear non-toxic?
Huha maintains OEKO-TEX certification, meaning that their products are tested and free from 1,000+ potentially harmful chemicals. You can learn more about OEKO-TEX certification in this post
How do Huha underwear compare to organic cotton underwear?
Personally, I prefer Huha Underwear to 100% organic cotton underwear. I’ve tried quite a few different brands and have always found them to stretch out or lose their shape. I would rather forego organic cotton and opt for underwear that holds its shape and stays in place!
Do Huha underwear ride up during workouts?
Not at all. I work out pretty regularly and have never had any issue with movement or riding up during a workout. That includes weight lifting, HIIT classes, pilates, cardio— you name it. These bad boys stay put 👏
Are Huha underwear true to size?
Yes. I ordered my true size and found them to fit as expected. If you are between sizes, I would recommend sizing up!
Which Huha style is my favorite?
My fave style is the mid-rise thong! I also love the bikini when I want a little more coverage!
Final Verdict
After wearing Huha underwear for more than a year, I can confidently say they're one of my favorite clothing purchases. They aren't inexpensive, but the combination of comfort, durability, breathable materials, and thoughtful design has made them my go-to everyday pair.
If you're trying to transition your wardrobe toward more natural fibers without sacrificing comfort or performance, I think Huha is well worth a look.
