Kroma Wellness Reset Review: Is This Viral Cleanse Actually Worth It?
Curious about the Kroma 5 Day Reset? I am too.
While I haven’t personally tried this cleanse, I have thoughts on some of the marketing claims and the product's overall structure. Let’s dive in…
I live, breathe, and work wellness. It’s not only my career but also something I’m really passionate about.
As a nurse by trade turned holistic health coach and blogger, I get many targeted ads for wellness products. Most aren't worth the hype, some are potentially helpful for your health, and some are downright harmful.
And sometimes, with marketing messages, popular products, and paid reviews, it is hard to know which category a product falls into.
That is why, over the last few years, I have really dived into testing and trying these viral brands and products. Not only do I get to satisfy my own curiosity, but I can also hopefully help you make a more informed decision about the products you purchase.
Now, before we get too far into this post—I have not personally tried this cleanse. But I have been getting ads for Kroma's reset for months now. Out of curiosity, I researched what is included in the program, what users are saying, and whether the claims hold up from a holistic health perspective.
As a business owner, wife, and mom of two, life is sometimes (always) a little busy. While I am all about creating sustainable wellness habits, sometimes you need a little bit of a reset. And if you have spent any time on social media, you have probably heard of dozens of different cleanses marketed to solve everything from weight loss to inflammation.
But are these aggressive cleanses actually healthy?
Let's take a closer look at the Kroma Wellness Reset.
What Is Kroma Wellness?
Kroma Wellness was founded by founder Lisa Odenweller, who created the company after her own wellness journey. According to the brand, the goal is to make functional wellness simple through convenient, nutrient-focused products and reset programs.
The company's flagship offering is the Kroma Wellness 5-Day Reset, a structured program built around what they call flavorful instant superfoods, beverage sachets, broths, snacks, and wellness supplements.
You'll also find products like:
Beauty Matcha Latte
Supergreens Elixir
Cranberry Hydration Elixir
Ultimate Vitality Latte
Perfect Fast Tea
Repair Magnesium
Cookie Butter Energy Snack
Delicious Super Porridge
The products are packaged into easy-to-follow color-coded packets (which, I might add, are so aesthetically pleasing), making the program straightforward even during a busy schedule.
What Is Included In The Kroma 5-Day Reset?
The Kroma 5-Day Reset (sometimes called the Kroma Reset or Kroma Cleanse) is designed as a 5-day lifestyle reset rather than a traditional juice cleanse.
Instead of consuming only liquids, participants eat a combination of:
Plant protein-based meals
Bone broth or dinner broth
Superfood drinks
Wellness supplements
Snacks
Hydration elixirs
The brand also offers a Deluxe Edition and periodically releases a Limited Edition reset kit with additional products.
Each day is organized with a color-coded day system, making it easy to know exactly what to consume. The reset includes products like the Beauty Matcha Latte, Spicy Passion Latte, Cranberry Hydration Elixir, Supergreens Elixir, and the famous OMG Cookie Butter snack.
Many users say the OMG Cookie Butter and Cookie Butter Energy Snack are among their favorite Kroma products. Again, I have not personally tried them, but they sound super tasty!
The Good: What I Like About The Concept
I'll be honest—when I first saw ads for the Kroma cleanse, I expected another restrictive detox promising dramatic weight loss.
After digging deeper, I was pleasantly surprised by a few things.
1. It Includes Actual Food
Unlike many cleanses that rely exclusively on juice, Kroma's reset includes real nourishment.
Participants consume products containing:
Plant protein
Bone broth
Chicken broth
Coconut milk
Nutrient-rich foods
Functional foods
From a health perspective, this is a much better way to approach a short-term reset than surviving on green juice and black coffee (don't do that, please). I also love their emphasis on nutrient density and whole foods. Compared to many other fad cleanses, this appears to be a more holistic approach.
2. It Encourages A Pause From Processed Foods
One of the most beneficial aspects of any reset isn't necessarily the products themselves.
It's what people temporarily stop eating.
Many participants are reducing:
Fast food
Alcohol
Excess sugar
Junk food
Highly processed snacks
For some people, five days focused on nutrient-dense foods and whole foods can serve as a useful reminder of how good their body feels when fueled well. I have done Whole30 several days in the past, and I always walk away with more intentionality for reading food labels and checking actual ingredients. I would assume that after the Kroma reset, you would have a similar focus on prioritizing whole foods.
3. Convenience Matters
As someone juggling motherhood, work, blogging, meal planning, and everything else that comes with real life, I understand the appeal.
Sometimes convenience helps people take positive action.
Having pre-portioned products and color-coded packets removes decision fatigue and may help some individuals establish healthier habits.
The Not-So-Good: Where My Skepticism Kicks In
While there are things I like about the concept, there are also a few areas where I remain skeptical.
1. Resets Don't "Detox" Your Body
This is one of my biggest concerns whenever a wellness brand uses cleanse-related language.
Your body already has highly sophisticated detoxification systems.
Your liver, kidneys, digestive system, and lymphatic system are all working together, all day long, to eliminate waste products.
You do not need a special tea, broth, or powder to "cleanse" your body.
While a short period of eating nutrient-dense foods may help you feel better, it is important not to confuse that with detoxification.
2. It Is Expensive
One of the first things that jumped out to me was the price.
Depending on the version purchased, the Kroma Wellness 5-Day Reset can cost several hundred dollars.
That's a significant investment for a five-day program.
For the same amount of money, many people could purchase:
High-quality protein
Fresh produce
Bone broth
Whole foods
Nutrient-rich foods
that would support health for weeks.
This is a bit of a side tangent, but I think it is important to note: these types of "health products" often can make wellness feel "elite" or "unattainable" for the average person. If you have ever thought that, let me remind you, you do not need expensive wellness products to "fix" your health. Instead, I encourage you to focus on the foundations (that are oftentimes free): quality sleep, hydration, prioritizing whole foods, moving your body, and being in community! Those habits alone can transform your health.
3. Weight Loss Is Usually Temporary
Let's talk about the elephant in the room.
Many people purchase cleanses with a weight loss goal in mind.
And yes, you may lose weight during a five-day reset.
However, much of that initial weight loss is often related to:
Reduced calorie intake
Lower sodium consumption
Decreased food volume
Water weight changes
The problem is that a quick fix weight loss moment rarely creates long-term success. And it can potentially cause disordered eating habits when they see those temporary shifts on the scale or in the mirror.
The healthier question is:
"What habits can I maintain six months from now?" Those are the ones you want to prioritize-- they will make the most sustainable change long term.
4. Some Products Still Contain Added Sugar
Several products contain ingredients like cane sugar. Now, this doesn't automatically make them unhealthy. I'm all about enjoying sugar in moderation.
But considering many wellness consumers are trying to reduce sugar intake, it is worth noting.
I always encourage people to look beyond marketing claims and actually read ingredient labels.
What About Energy, Brain Fog, And Better Sleep?
Many users report improvements in:
Energy levels
Brain fog
Better sleep
Digestion
Overall wellness
And honestly?
Some of those improvements may be legitimate.
If someone normally eats highly processed foods, skips meals, drinks excess alcohol, and lives on morning coffee, then five days of structured nutrition may absolutely help them feel better.
The question becomes:
Was it the Kroma products specifically?
Or was it the fact that they temporarily replaced less supportive habits with healthier habits?
That's an important distinction.
My Thoughts On The Individual Products
Even though I haven't personally tried the reset, there are several products that I’m very interested in. Here are a few that really caught my eye…
Beauty Matcha Latte
A convenient alternative to morning coffee with additional functional ingredients. I've always been a big fan of matcha for both taste and antioxidant content. This one in particular also includes 12 grams of collagen (hiiii skin, hair and nail benefits), and adaptogenic mushrooms.
Supergreens Elixir
An easy way to increase micronutrient intake when traveling or during particularly busy weeks. Personally, I have never taken a super greens. I love veggies and regularly include them in my diet (and my kids too), but... my husband, on the other hand, does not. For several years, he took a popular one to support nutrient intake for mthfr.
I do like the idea of this elixir for my coaching clients who struggle getting nutrient-dense vegetables in their diet.
Cranberry Hydration Elixir
Likely helpful for hydration, especially for individuals with active lifestyles. I've taken electrolyte mixes for years, and I am a big fan of how they make me feel, especially during heavy workouts and when I'm sweating.
While I would be interested in trying this elixir, I am also apprehensive about some of the website copy for this product. On the product page is says it can help you "shed toxins"... I would be curious to hear more about this claim and what evidence they have to support it. Unless maybe they are referring to hydration supporting your natural detoxification pathways??
Repair Magnesium
Magnesium is one supplement I regularly discuss because of its potential role in sleep, recovery, and stress management.
Magnesium has been a regular part of my bedtime routine for several years now, so I love that this is a part of the program!
Bone Broth And Dinner Broth
Of all the products included, these may be among the most practical.
Bone broth and veggie broth can provide warmth, hydration, and a satisfying alternative to constant snacking. I've personally made, drank, and used bone broth in cooking for years and am a big fan of the nutrients they provide.
Speaking of broth, I recently saw their super ramen, a new product that’s an alternative to traditional instant ramen.
What you eat or drink in a day
According to a video on their site, here are the products you would consume in one day of the reset:
1. Beauty Matcha - 12 grams collagen
2. Super Porridge - you can add berries!
3. Cranberry Hydration Elixir -electrolytes
4 Plant- based protein (the flavors alternate depending on the day) - either mix in water or blend into a smoothie
5. Broth (beef, chicken, or veggie) -add protein and veggies or eat on its own
6. Supergreens Elixir
7. caffeine-free afternoon latte
8. OMG Cookie Butter
9. Broth
10. Snooze Magnesium drink
I was curious what the total calorie intake for this cleanse was, so I broke out my calculator. An average day clocks in at 755 calories...... I hope you know that if you are an adult, you need substantially more calories than that. Even though they market having 100+ grams of protein in their mixes, if you still don't have adequate calories overall, that can leave your body undernourished.
I was looking through some of Kroma's content and found that, apparently, they have 3 different Reset options, including Lifestyle, Lean, and Active. That said, I could not find an option to make this choice anywhere. Maybe it was an older option?
Is The Kroma Wellness Reset Worth It?
Without personally trying this reset, and just going off of my research and the published reviews, I guess my answer is: It depends on what you're hoping to achieve.
If you're expecting a magical detox, rapid fat-loss, a cure for inflammation, or a long-term permanent transformation… you will probably be disappointed
BUT, if you're looking for a structured reset, high-quality ingredients in a convenient system, a chance to focus on daily habits, or a break from your current eating habits, then you may find this type of program very valuable.
My Final Verdict
As someone who tends to be skeptical of wellness trends, I actually find the Kroma Wellness Reset more reasonable than many cleanses currently on the market— with a huge caveat… it does not provide adequate calories for an adult human. I would make sure that I am adding protein and veggies to the broths. I would be adding protein and berries to the morning porridge. And I would definitely be making sure that I am adding additional calories to provide my body with the necessary energy!
I appreciate that it includes actual food, emphasizes nutrient-dense foods, and encourages people to slow down and become more intentional about their eating habits. That said, I don't think the magic is in the packets.
The real value likely comes from temporarily stepping away from highly processed foods and reconnecting with foundational healthy habits.
Personally, if I were spending several hundred dollars, I would probably invest that money into high-quality whole foods, protein, produce, and sustainable lifestyle changes.
Because at the end of the day, long-term success rarely comes from a five-day cleanse. It comes from the daily routine, daily thoughts, and daily actions that you repeat consistently for months and years. And that is something no reset kit can do for you.
