30+ Healthier Valentine’s Gifts for Him

Looking for inspiration for a healthier Valentine’s Day gift idea?

Here are some of my favorite gift ideas (straight from things my husband owns and loves— or that I plan to get him 😜)

To be honest, I have never been a big fan of Valentine’s Day. I don’t really like receiving flowers, and I would much rather have a date night in, than go out. But, I am not a total grinch about it. I do like writing my husband a meaningful card and getting him something thoughtful. As a registered nurse and health coach, this often means something that will help support his health and wellness goals, or one of his hobbies.

But sometimes it can be hard to find something useful, original, and thoughtful— so I tried getting them all in one place! Gifts less than $20, gifts for the workout enthusiast, gift ideas for your guy that likes to cook, and handmade gift ideas he’ll love. Most of these are items that I have personally gifted my husband, or other things we have loved through the years!

Healthier Valentine’s Day Gifts for Him: 30+ Wellness-Inspired Ideas

This list is full of healthier gift ideas than your standard box of chocolates (we are all about moderation over here, so if that’s your jam, ENJOYY ✨) You’ll find everything from fitness gear, inspiring books, and unique

Healthier Valentine’s Gifts for the Fitness Enthusiast

My husband has always loved working out and lifting weights. Over the years we have built a small home gym and a collection of tools to help support our fitness. Here are some of our favorites:

Fitness Tracker

I think fitness trackers can be such a fun way to get data on your health, incentivize a new workout routine, and encourage activity. Personally, I have a garmin vivo active which I really have enjoyed.

I do not enjoy having my texts or calls linked to my phone (I would much rather be disconnected), and love how easy it is to pick and choose which features you use. But I think my most favorite info is about sleep quality and my overall heart health in response to movement, sickness, and overall recovery. Most fitness trackers are a bit of an investment, so I would chat with your significant other about what their personal preferences would be because there are so many different styles and capabilities. Here are some of my favorite fitness trackers for men:

Massage Gun

When we first got a massage gun, my husband and I would argue over who used it on the other’s back. These are great to use on sore muscles, increasing circulation, and overall recovery. We have this style that comes with so many different attachments that target specific muscles within your body.

Reusable Water Bottle

Help him stay hydrated with a stainless steel water bottle. I got my husband a set from costco a few years ago and he still uses it every single day. Here are some of my favorite affordable water bottles from amazon:

  • Stainless Steel Water bottle- this is the brand my husband has used the last few years. Personally, I like the Simple Modern brand for water bottles, but I feel like many of their styles and colors are a bit more feminine

Adjustable Dumbbells

We have a very small home gym set up and this is one of the best pieces we invested in. I love that both my husband and I can use the dumbbells and that they do not take up as much space as a large rack. I was a little bit worried about how long they would last, or if there would be any issues with the adjustment feature but 3 years in, and they still work great for us without any issue!

  • Adjustable dumbbell set- I was not able to find the exact set that we have, but this is a very similar one. Depending on his fitness experience, you will want to find a set with an appropriate weight range (if he has been lifting weights for a long time, look for a high max range setting and vice versa!)

Pull- Up Bar

Another home gym option and another item that my husband uses regularly! This can fit into any of our doorways and is really sturdy feeling when doing pull-ups.

Sustainable Workout Clothes

Did you know that most workout clothing is made out of synthetic fibers and plastics? Those fiber particles and chemicals can then be absorbed through your skin, especially when your pores are open from working out and sweating. We are not purists about natural fibers, but have tried to more intentionally prioritize them lately. Here are some of my favorite sustainable workout clothes for men that are made from mainly natural fibers:

  • Mate the Label- my favorite place for organic fleece and cotton sweats, shirts and shorts. I would say they are more comfort- focused than performance-focused, if that makes sense.

  • Pact Apparel

Sports Equipment

Got a guy that likes to play golf? Or frisbee golf? Or maybe you enjoy playing pickleball? Getting equipment for that sport would make a great gift! We bought pickleball racquets and balls a few years ago and have had so much fun getting to use them with friends and family

Acupressure Mat

Relieve stress, improve circulation, and promote relaxation with this simple yet effective tool. A word of warning— the first few times you use this can feel a little bit intense but I PROMISE, you’ll love it. The tiny plastic pieces press into your skin and increase blood flow, and activate acupressure points causing relaxation! There have been multiple times I have fallen asleep on ours 😅

Foam Roller

This is an excellent tool for muscle recovery and improving flexibility.

Portable Sauna

Saunas are a great way to support cardiovascular health, natural detoxification, and relaxation. We own this portable infrared sauna and really like it as an affordable option before we can invest in a larger permanent one.

Valentine’s Gift Ideas for The Guy That Loves to Cook

Whether your guy already loves cooking, or maybe it is a hobby he is hoping to get better at, here is a list of healthy tools and ingredients he’ll love! Many of these items are things my husband and I own and love, or gifts I have bought him through the years.

Healthier Seasoning

If the men in your life are anything like the ones in mine, they all love meat 😅 Between my husband, dad, and brother, I feel like one of them is always smoking or roasting or grilling up some kind of protein. Not that I am complaining at all! Here are some fun and unique seasoning options that everyone will enjoy:

  • Pluck Organ Seasoning- organ meats are so nutritious, but they are a bit hard to swallow for many people. This seasoning help you get those nutrients in while tasting really amazing!

Cooking Class Gift Card

Over the years we have taken a few cooking classes and always have a fun time! Look for a themed one that is of interest to him and it’s the perfect date night and gift!

Healthy Cookbook

These are some of my favorite cookbooks filled with easy, wholesome recipes. I feel like many cookbooks are a bit more feminine in design, but these ones are all a bit more masculine

BlackStone

This portable Blackstone cooktop is great for camping, tailgating, and barbecues!

Subscription to a Local CSA

The last few summers we have enjoyed produce from a local CSA. This acronym stands for Community Shared Agriculture and it is basically a membership to produce. You help support local farmers and get to enjoy local produce. This would be a great gift for someone who enjoys to cook!

There are also CSA’s that are for meat, dairy products, eggs, etc.

More Healthy Valentine’s Day Gifts for Him

Okay maybe fitness and cooking don’t resonate for your guy. Here are some more ideas to help inspire your gifting for V Day this year!

EMF Blocking Phone Case

Did you know that keeping his phone in his front pocket may be effecting his sperm count and health?! A phone case to help reduce emf exposure can help to mitigate this and support healthy sperm

Noise-Canceling Headphones

Help him focus during workouts, meditation, or work with high-quality headphones.

Blue Light Glasses

I purchase these blue-light blocking glasses a few months ago and have noticed such a huge difference in my sleep. They are a bit pricier than many of the “blue light blocking” glasses on Amazon, but they are significantly more effective.

Coffee Basket

If your guy is anything like mine, he is a bit coffee-obsessed. We love enjoying a nourishing cup of coffee in the morning and I think a personalized kit of all your favorite things would be so sweet. Coffee beans, a new mug, maybe a new coffee gadget he has been eyeing, or one that would take his coffee game to the next level… here are some of my favorites:

Organic + Non-Toxic Beard Oil

For as long as I’ve been with my husband, he has had facial hair. Before I went through and cleaned up our health and beauty products, he used a beard conditioner that used fragrance. Who knew it would be so hard to find a natural beard oil without artificial fragrance, that still worked well for him?!

After a bit of trial and error, he landed on this one and has been happily using it for the last couple of years.

Meditation App Subscription

Help him develop a mindfulness practice with a subscription to a guided meditation app.

Journal

I love giving journals as a gift. Not only are they practical, but you can have their name embossed on the cover to make it more personal!

If your guy isn’t much of a journaler, you can always gift them a journal that you have filled out. I did this before my husband and I got married— the whole year of our engagement, I journaled about my excitement and thoughts about getting married. I ended up giving it to him on our one year anniversary and it was really sweet to read two years worth of journal entries together.

Mouth tape

This may be a gift for the whole family 😜 Breathing through your nose has a lot of really important health benefits. And a telltale sign that you are not breathing through your nose at night is snoring. While there are a lot of things that can play a role in snoring, there are some simple things you can do to help nose breathe. One of the most affordable options is mouth-taping!

Hiking Backpack

Support his outdoor adventures with a durable and functional hiking backpack. I have had my Osprey backpack for nearly 10 years now and have taken it all over the world. It has held up so great and it truly one of the most comfortable packs I’ve ever used.

This is a great gift for someone who enjoys backpacking and traveling!

Wireless Meat Thermometer

This meat thermometer connects via bluetooth to an app. It lets you keep an eye on the internal temperature of what you’re cooking and lets you know when it reaches the desired temp. We used to have a wired one which was fine, but this makes it so much more convenient!

Work backpack or Day pack

I love that this backpack is aesthetic and minimalist— it makes it look a bit less “student” and more “professional” which makes it great for travel or taking to the office. My husband occasionally travels for work, so this is the perfect bag that is a bit more elevated and professional looking.

Handmade Valentine’s Gifts for Him

I am a sucker for a good handmade and thoughtful gift. I think over the years, I can look back and confidently say that my favorite gifts have always been ones made by loved ones. Here are some of my favorite Valentine’s gift ideas that help to support holistic health and wellness:

  • Write a thoughtful card

  • Spend the afternoon making his favorite dinner and/or dessert— last year, we started doing at-home sushi date nights and it has been so much fun! It is thoughtful, personal, and makes for a great date night in!

  • I mentioned this in another section, but I love the idea of gifting a filled out journal. I did this for my husband a few years back and it really was sweet for us to read through together.

  • Photo book- compile all your favorite photos together throughout the year

  • Date night jar- i have seen this idea floating around on Pinterest and think it is so cute. It is basically a mason jar with popsicle sticks. On each stick you write a date night idea (example: go ice skating, watch a movie together, make sushi at home, cook a new recipe together, go on a hike, etc) Then, throughout the year you can pull a stick together when it is time for a date

I think thoughtful gifts can be so much fun (and shopping for them is definitely one of my love languages). But I think it is also important to remember that quality time can help support holistic health within your relationship as much (or more) than any wellness gadget or cookbook. Check in to what your partner’s needs and wants are and what would truly serve your relationship best.

Got some other favorite gift ideas? I’d love to hear them.
